Trekking & Mountain bike Tours
Nature and National Parks offer fantastic marked trails for trekking.
Nearby, you have access to the National park, Sierra de María, with its shady forests giving the impression of an oasis. Belonging to the mountain range of Cordilleras Beticas, it achieves an altitude of 2045 m (Cerro Poyo).
In Spain, the Nature Park of Cabo de Gata, is almost a legend, representing the last more-or-less untouched area of Andalusian Mediterranean coast, with its centre-piece being the Sierra del Cabo de Gata. This chain of mountains, just short of 500m in altitude, consists of dark volcanos stone and stretches from south-west to north-east through the Cabo de Gata, and encompasses the largest portion of the Nature Park. The highest peak is between San Jose and Los Escullos and reaches 493m. The coastal boundary consists of steep cliffs and rounds up this wild, untamed landscape towards the Mediterranean.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada at the gates of Granada is the most southern skiing area of Europe with 118 trails adding up to 104km in length. Snow is maintained usually from November to May.
Golf
There are several golf courses in the area and especially famous is the 18-hole Golf course Valle del Este, from designer D.Channels José Gálvez. The terrain is hilly with numerous water elements. The impressive ambience and the breath-taking view of the deep blue Mediterranean on the horizon add to the reward for completing this demanding and challenging course.
Water sports
The nearby coast offers numerous surfing and sailing schools. Boards and boots are available for rental to experienced surfers and sailors.
Discover the fascinating underwater world of diving. There are a variety of interesting diving areas along the coast serviced by well-equipped and reliable diving outlets.
Motorcycle Tours
The area is a paradise for motorcyclists. Diversified, with little traffic, and romantic curvy mountain passes, with amazing panoramic views from the peaks.
